Candice Elizabeth Skinner

Candice Elizabeth Skinner of Akron, age 28, passed away suddenly on April 21, 2018 at her home. Candice was born May 21, 1989 in Saginaw, the daughter of James & Catherine (Blakely) Skinner, and was a graduate of Unionville-Sebewaing High School. She loved the arts and used her talents as a therapy to help children heal and learn. Candice enjoyed being with her family and lived a simple life with much time spent at home. She enjoyed several types of painting, including abstract art, but also appreciated everything being in its proper place. Candice is survived by her daughter, Arianna of Akron; parents, James and Catherine Skinner of Akron; siblings and their spouses, Heather & Brad Purman of Reese, Tony & Heather Skinner of Lancaster, South Carolina; grandparents, Patricia & Gordon Blakely of Harrison; special aunt, Amy VanDorn as well as other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many cousins. She was also a beloved aunt to Harlow, Teagan and Dylan. Candice was preceded in death by and infant son, Dillon; and her great-grandparents, Doris & Francis Butterfield. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Pastor Phillip Hudson officiating. Burial will follow at a later date at the Cranberry Lake Cemetery in Harrison. The family will be present to receive friends on Wednesday at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Family Discretionary Fund to be used for Arianna's education, c/o Catherine Skinner, 205 West Sherman Street, Caro, MI 48723.
