Carl Lloyd Brock

Carl Lloyd Brock of Caro, age 87, passed away to be with his Lord on August 10, 2016 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Community in Caro. Carl was born January 10, 1929 in Cass City, the son of the late Harold and Maude (Tedford) Brock. On September 11, 1948, he was united in marriage with the former Elnora Jane Ackerman, and she survives him. Carl worked for thirty years at Eaton Manufacturing in Vassar, retiring in 1979. He also was employed at Volplex as a night watchman. Carl bought his first harness horse in 1959. He was a member of the Watrousville United Methodist Church, the U.S. Trotting Association, and a lifetime member of the Michigan Harness Horseman's Association, where he drove the water truck for several years. Surviving family members include his loving wife of sixty-seven years, Elnora; three daughters and their spouses, Carol & Bill Wylie, Kim Calabro, Melody & Darril Gettel; eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by one daughter, Michelle Brock; one granddaughter, Michelle Jackman; one sister, Lena Potts; and one brother, Harley Brock. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at the Watrousville United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. William P. Sanders officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at the Indianfields Township Cemetery in Caro. The family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home on Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 3:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Watrousville United Methodist Church.
