Carl A. Hoppe

Carl A. Hoppe, age 78, of Sebewaing, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2018, at McLaren Bay Region in Bay City.

Carl was born May 3, 1939, in Sebewaing, to Alfred and Amanda (Koch) Hoppe. After graduating from Sebewaing High School, he joined the United States Army. After being honorably discharged he worked for General Motors in Bay City for 30 years. He married Marilyn (Jaster) on April 6, 1991. Carl was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, the Sebewaing Sportsman's VFW and Sebewaing American Legion Post #293. He enjoyed fishing hunting, attending the kids sporting events, calling Bingo at the Legion and VFW, watching the Detroit Tigers, Michigan Football, and Detroit Lions.

Carl is survived by his wife, Marilyn; children: Ralph (Ann) Hoppe of Zeeland, MI, Glenn Hoppe of Florida, Brenda Hoppe of Florida, Jared (friend Tori Bruce) Hoppe of Bad Axe, and Justin (Aurora) Hoppe of Sebewaing; grandchildren: Ben Hoppe, Allison Hoppe, Angelica English, Jessica (James) Hinshaw, Dalton Elphinstone, Carson Hoppe, Keira Hoppe, Sophia Hoppe and Harmony Hoppe; great grandson, Andrew Hoppe; siblings: Murl (Irene), Geraldine (late Ted), Gary (Judy), Dennis (Helen), Jane (late Art), Howard (Ginger), Peggy (John) and Joyce (Kipp); and many nieces and nephews.

Carl is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Josh (survived by Mari) Hoppe; brother, Loren Hoppe; and mother-in-law, Norma Jaster.

Per Carl's wishes, cremation has taken place.

A memorial service is planned for Saturday, February 17, 2018, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at 10am until the time of service at 11am. Rev. Charles Kuhl will be officiating.

Memorial donations may be given to the family.
