Carl William Liken

Carl W. Liken, age 95, of Sebewaing, passed away Friday evening, May 31, 2013. Carl was born February 27, 1918 in Sebewaing, son of John Henry Liken and Amanda Magdalena (Schumacher) Liken.

Carl served in the US Army during WWII. He retired in 1980 as an auditor for the State of Michigan. He was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and an avid outdoorsman.

Carl is survived by nieces and nephews: Annette O'Farrell of Cantonement, FL, Kenneth (Kay) Thumme of Elkton, MI, Lynn (Don) Groth of Greendale, WI, Susan Beachy of Bay City, MI, John (Denise) Liken of Johnstown, CO, and Ruth Anne (Curtis) Strickland of Cass City, MI.

He is preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers: John, Arthur and Theodore Liken, and 2 sisters: Esther Thumme and Marie Liken.

Services were private.

Cremation has taken place. Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be given to the Sebewaing American Legion Post# 293, Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing, or Christ the King Lutheran School in Sebewaing
