Carl Parsell, age 93 years, of Caro, passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at St. Marys of Michigan in Saginaw. He was born on November 4, 1912, at the family farm in Almer Township where he lived until his recent move to town. Carl and the former Myrtle Van Guilder have celebrated 71 years of marriage. For all of his life, Carl was a self-employed farmer and has served his community on both the Lewis School Board and as Treasurer of the Almer Township Board. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening. Carl was a member of the Caro United Methodist Church and recently has attended Colwood United Brethren in Christ Church. In addition to his wife, Myrtle, he is survived by two sons, a daughter, and their spouses, Gary (Marylin) Parsell of Caro, Wayne (Bonnie) Parsell of Prescott, Arizona, and Bonnie (Bob) Irvine of Caro; twelve grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Carl was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry and Bob; as well as one sister, Clara Locke . Cremation has taken place with a memorial service at a later date. Memorials may be made to Meals On Wheels or the Colwood United Brethren in Christ Church.
