Carmen Leigh Smith

Carmen Leigh Smith, 44, of Bay Port, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2025.

Carmen was born February 22, 1980 in Detroit to Robert and Denise Ellis.  She grew up in Birmingham.  She loved cooking, camping, fishing, and family.  She married Ralph Bronson July 29, 2023 at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church-Berne.

Carmen is survived by her husband Ralph Bronson; son Ryan Barnes; mother Denise Ellis-Harris of Novi; siblings Mike Ellis, Robert A. Ellis and Sijan Ellis; sister-in-law Jackie Barnes; brother-in-law Gerald Baggett; nephew Christopher Acree; and grandmother Elaine Cohen.  She was preceded in death by her father Robert A. Ellis, grandmother Dorothy Ellis, and grandfathers Norman Ellis and Moshe Cohen.

A private memorial service will take place at a later date.  Champagne Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
