Carol Ann Metz

Carol Ann Metz of Caro, age 73, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, October 16, 2018. Carol was born January 3, 1945 in Caro, the daughter of the late Charles R. and Alice M. (Mulroy) Bowles. She was a 1963 graduate of Caro High School and went on to earn a degree from Davenport University. Her first job was working as a carhop at Johnnie's Drive-in, and later she was employed as a telephone operator at Continental Telephone, worked at the Michigan State Police Post and Walbro Corporation, and finished her working career as a receptionist at McLaren - Caro Region. She was an avid gardener and also enjoyed knitting, reading, spending time with family and friends, and attending her grandchildren's sporting events. She is survived by two children, Jeffrey Mitchell of Valparaiso, Indiana, and Karen Potter-Zabonick of Macomb; one sister, Charlene Baranski of Caro; three grandchildren, Amanda Potter, Zakary and Mitchell Zabonick, all of Macomb; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers, Connie Hanes, Robert and Richard Bowles. In keeping with Carol's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Rev. Michele Hile officiating. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, November 3, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to Susan G.
