Carol Montei

Carol Ann Montei, age 58, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2009 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility. She was born on August 10, 1950 in Caro to Robert and the late Norma (Snyder Pretzer) Roose. Carol was a Caro High School graduate. For much of her life she lived in the northern Lower Peninsula and for a time in the Upper Peninsula, prior to returning to Caro. During her working career, she was a nurses assistant and personal care aide at hospitals and AFC homes. For many years she enjoyed selling Tupperware, the parties, and the people she met in doing so. She is survived by two sons, Matthew Montei of Traverse City and Ryan (Elizabeth) Montei of Hudson; her father, Robert (Alberta) Roose of Caro; five siblings, Barbara (Raymond) Karr of Caro, David Pretzer of Kingston, Linda (Henry) Gouine of Millington, Mary Mietz of North Port, Florida and Jacob Roose of Caro; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Norma Roose; and a sister-in-law, Barbara Pretzer. The funeral service will be held at the Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Raymond Karr officiating. Burial will be at Indianfields Township Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Collon Funeral Home on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to American Home Hospice.
