Carol Ann Olivarez of Caro, age 68, passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Fisher Senior Care and Rehab Center in Mayville. Carol was born December 10, 1954, in Lenoir City, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Creed and Mary Ellen (Barger) Johnson. She was united in marriage with Raul "Rudy" Olivarez on August 15, 1975, in Clinton, Tennessee. She is survived by her loving husband of forty-seven years, Rudy Olivarez; one son, Josh Olivarez and his girlfriend and her son, Jolynn and Orion Halasz of Caro; one granddaughter, Sydney Olivarez of Caro; one great-grandson, Silas Williams; sister, Rita Putnam of Sandusky; brother-in-law, Bill Garza of Caro; aunt, Shirley Itson and family of Fort Myers, Florida; and many nieces, nephews, and their families, Chuck, Tristan, and Makayla Kirkland of Sandusky, Trish & Ben Taylor and their children and grandchildren of Vassar, Joanne & Damon Lane of Caro, Paul Mlynarski of Caro, Melvin Garza of Lapeer, David & Terry Garza of Rogers, Arkansas, Marty & Annette Garza and family of Bay City, Nora Garza of Grand Blanc, Albert & Ann Garza and family of Caro, Linda & Tim Harper and family of Vassar, Roger & Angie and family of Bay City, Tanya & Johnny Castro and family of Westlaco, Texas, Jeremy & Tara Olivarez and family of Saginaw. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Waylon Dylan Olivarez; father-in-law and mother-in-law, E. & N. Olivarez; sister-in-law, Clara Garza; and a special brother-in-law, Fred Olivarez. In keeping with Carol's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Cemetery in Saginaw. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, April 3, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the family, c/o Rudy Olivarez, 205 West Sherman Street, Caro, MI 48723.
