Carole A. Amend

Carole A. Amend of Caro, age 73, passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at St. Mary's of Michigan in Saginaw, following a period of declining health. Carole was born January 20, 1944 at her family home in Caro, the daughter of the late Wildrex & Leola (Milner) English. She worked as a Beeline Clothing representative and later as a paraprofessional at Highland Pines School in Caro before moving to Florida in 1982. While in Florida, Carole was employed by the Manatee County School District and returned to Caro five years ago, following her retirement. She will be remembered as an avid Detroit Lions fan that also enjoyed listening to church services and Christian music on the radio. Carole also cherished time spent with her grandchildren and at the family cabin in Lewiston. Left to cherish her memory are three children and their spouses, Dawn & Matt Branding of Caro, James & Kandace Amend of Bloomfield Hills, Marcy & Jim McKinnon of Canton; nine grandchildren, Jonah, Grace and Claire Branding, Katherine, Nicholas and Lauren Amend, Samantha, Jacob and Madison McKinnon; five siblings and their spouses, Wildrex & Carlene English of Comstock Park, Milo & Barbara English of Bay City, Daniel & Janice English of Millington, Tennessee, Frances Freeman of Los Angeles, California, Lois Smale of Anaheim Hills, California; sister-in-law, Margaret English of Caro; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Carole was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry and Ellis English; and a sister-in-law, Joan English. The family will be present from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro to meet with friends and celebrate Carole's life.
