Carole Ann Crank

Carole Ann Crank, 70, of Caseville, died peacefully in her home Saturday morning, December 14, 2013, while surrounded by family. She was born April 13, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Frederick F. and Caroline I. (Faybrick) Stasser. On February 4, 1966, she was joined in matrimony to Frederick J. Crank at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Detroit. She was a loving mother to four children: Sheri (John) McLelland of Gregory, Kimberly (William) Browning of Saint Clair Shores, Caroline (Gerald) Langley of Caseville and Frederick (Michelle) Crank of Garden City. Carole was also the proud grandmother of ten. She enjoyed spending time with all of her grandchildren on the Caseville beaches every summer. Carole was also a caring sister to Mary (David) Filion of Freeland and Frederick (Margaret) Stasser of Garden City. Preceding her in death was her sister Virginia Stasser. Carole graduated from St. Francis de Sales High School in Detroit in 1961. Professionally, Carole began a career in the legal field after graduating from St. Francis de Sales High School, Detroit, in 1961, when she accepted a position at the Wayne County Probate clerk’s office. Later, while raising her family and working at Mercy College of Detroit, she earned her Associate and Bachelor’s degrees in Paralegal Studies and Legal Administration, graduating with Honors. She enjoyed teaching paralegal studies at Eastern University and Mercy College of Detroit. As a probate and estate planning paralegal, Carole succeeded in assisting countless individuals in times of need. Carole was an avid gardener, enjoyed golf and traveling. She moved to Caseville (from Westland) after retiring in 2000, though she’d been vacationing in Caseville since she married Fred. She and Fred wintered in Donna, Texas. Carole will be dearly missed by many. Memorial Services will be at 1:00 pm Saturday, December 21 at Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dominican Monastery of St. Jude P.O.
