Caroline C. Schuette age 88, of Oliver Twp. passed away Monday evening, February 2, at Courtney Manor, Bad Axe.
She was born in Verona Twp. October 19, 1926 at the home of her parents the late August and Frances (Rothe) Rosenthal. They moved to Elkton in her youth, graduating from Elkton High School in 1944.
On February 7, 1948, she was united in marriage to Carl E Schuette at Cross Lutheran Church, Pigeon, where she has remained a faithful member.
Caroline was a farm wife all of her married life. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, playing cards, antique furniture, sewing, babies, crocheting, many pets over the years, and especially, her grandchildren.
Surviving are her children, Connie (Neil) Herford of Elkton, Charles (Mary) Schuette of Owendale, Cheryl (Randy) Sturm of Pigeon and Chris (Marcia) Schuette of Pigeon; six grandchildren, Angela (Jim) Felton, Jody (Ken) Wagner, Grant (Jen) Herford, Martin Sturm, Jennifer Sturm and Austin Schuette; eight great grandchildren; a special nephew, Randy (Kathy) Kerr; her sister, Sophie VanHevel; sisters-in-law, Olga Renn, Jane Rosenthal and Mildred Rosenthal and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were four brothers, Joe, Walt, Art and Martin and three sisters, Martha Swalwell Thayer, Elsie Kerr and Alvina Rosenthal.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, February 7, at Cross Lutheran Church, Pigeon. Rev. Timothy Loehrke, pastor will officiate with burial in Cross Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 9 PM at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton and at the church Saturday morning after 10 AM.
