Carolyn Ann Savage

Carolyn Ann Savage of Mayville, age 77, passed away on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at United Hospice Residence in Marlette. Carolyn was born August 8, 1943 in St. Charles, the daughter of the late Russell and Mariam (Carr) Ruf and was a graduate of St. Charles High School. She was united in marriage with Donald Louis Savage on June 13, 1962 in St. Charles and he preceded her in death on October 23, 1999. She loved Elvis and country music, animals and loved feeding the birds. Carolyn was a stubborn, strong and unapologetically blunt woman with a great smile. During her time raising her children, she was very involved with 4-H and attended all of her children's school activities. She would do anything for everybody and enjoyed talking to everyone she met. She touched a lot of peoples heart's. Carolyn adored her grandchildren immensely. Carolyn is survived by one daughter, Katrina Coutz of Mayville; one son, Ned Savage and his wife, Shannon, of Lapeer; four grandchildren, Karissa Coutz of Mayville, Brenden Savage-Langmaid of Mayville, Kaden Kozan of Mayville, and Trent Savage of Lapeer. Carolyn was preceded in death by Jim Ruf. Funeral services will be held at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at North Grove Cemetery. The immediate family will be present to receive family and close friends at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the brief service at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The American Cancer Society.
