Carolyn "Sue" Fish

Carolyn “Sue” Fish of Caro, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Bay View Gardens in Sebewaing. She was born on May 2, 1940, in Millington, the daughter of the late Grover and Marie (Germain) Jobson.

Sue attended Lakeville Schools before beginning a career caring for others. She worked at the Tuscola County Medical Care Community for thirty years before providing in-home care for three families over the next eight years. On June 15, 1972, she married the love of her life, Donald Fish. They shared more than forty-one wonderful years together before Don's passing on December 15, 2013.

Sue enjoyed crafting, sewing, working in the yard, and taking long walks. She loved riding her snowmobile and motorcycle, except when it meant crossing the Mackinac Bridge on a windy day. An excellent cook and baker, Sue looked forward to preparing large holiday meals for family and friends, with Thanksgiving being a family favorite. She was independent, strong-willed, and never hesitated to speak her mind. Those who knew Sue will remember her determination, her generous meals, and the care she showed to the people she loved.

Sue leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Denise & Brian Tretheway; son-in-law, Greg Kovacs & friend, Connie Betz; stepsons, Martin & Crystal Fish and Matthew Fish; stepdaughter, Lynn & Joseph Rodriguez; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and her feline companion, Hunter. In addition to her parents and husband, Sue was preceded in death by her four brothers, four sisters, daughter, Audrey Sue Kovacs, and step-grandson, Raymond Fish.

Sue’s life celebration will be on Friday, July 31, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Ransford Funeral Home in Caro with Rev. Karen Bouverrette officiating. Sue’s family will be present to receive visitors on Thursday at the Funeral Home in Caro from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of her service. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to the Tuscola County Animal Shelter or Heartland Hospice.
