Carrie Lynn Brunni, 55, of Pigeon, died Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit after a long illness.
Carrie was born January 2, 1963 in Pigeon to the late Eldon and Arlene (Smith) Brunni. She graduated from Laker High School in 1981 and then attended one year at Delta College. In 1982, a major auto accident left her paralyzed, but that did not keep her from living a full and active life. She loved sports and played basketball, softball and other sports throughout high school. And after her injury she continued to be engaged by coaching a girls softball team. She was a kind and generous person, ready to help others in need. She also helped manage Pigeon Hardware.
She is survived by her siblings: James (Carole) of Arizona, Mary (James) Granelli of California, Betty Brunni (Greg Mathers) of Pigeon, Barb Krohn (Mark Kellerman) of Pigeon, and Bill (Son Mi) Brunni of Cedar Springs; step-father Hazen Fritz of Pigeon; step-siblings Dennis (Jean) Fritz of Pigeon, Denise (Greg) Munoz of Pigeon, Randy (Evelyn) Fritz of Pigeon, Connie (Terry) Damm of Pigeon and Sherri (David) Kraft of Caseville; nieces and nephews: Carl, Jeff, Matt, Alex, Nate, Kim, Janelle, Suzie, Steven, and Jonathan; great-nieces and great-nephews Carter, Elliot, Isaac, Eloise, and Calvin; many cousins, step-nieces and step-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Carl and brother-in-law David Krohn.
A memorial service will be 11:00am Friday, April 13 th at Pigeon First United Methodist Church with Rev. Cindy Gibbs. Visitation will be 2-8 Thursday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel in Elkton.
