Casimer Sikoski

March 30, 1925 — October 9, 2009

Casimer Z. Sikoski Sr, age 84, started his new life with the Lord, Friday, October 9 with his family at his side.
He was born March 30, 1925 in Detroit to the late John and Catherine (Maziarz) Sikoski.
On June 8, 1946, he was united in marriage to Amelia Tessak at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Detroit. In 1947, they moved to the farm in Oliver Twp to raise their family.
Cass was a fun loving gentleman who enjoyed going to town for coffee and to share life experiences with those around him. He enjoyed fishing, hunting woodworking and lending a helping hand whenever needed. He retired from farming in 1978, but really never quit completely. He kept up with the market reports and continued to maintain his wonderful vegetable garden, always willing to share with everyone.
Cass was a faithful member of St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church his entire married life.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Amelia; six children, Marcella Budzynowski of Bad Axe, Daniel (Lori) Sikoski of Shelby Twp., Cass Sikoski Jr. of Pigeon, Cindy Sikoski of Elkton, Kathy (Roger) Koch of Bay Port and Diana (Bill) Bittner of Elkton; three grandchildren, Meagan Koch and her special friend, Josh Fritz of Bay Port, Clairice Sikoski of Clinton Twp. and Daniel Bittner of Troy; his brother, Marion Sikoski of Bay Port; his sister, Patsy (Otho) Holcomb of Ohio and two sisters-in-law, Karen Sikoski of Shelby Twp. and Carol Kernen of Walled Lake.
Preceding him in death were a son-in-law, Jerry "B" Budzynowski, a brother, Richard Sikoski, Brother-in-law, Jim Kernen and a sister-in-law, Ada Sikoski. He was also a mentor and father figure to Jay Letkowski and Johnny Wolin who also preceded him in death.
A funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Wednesday at St Francis Borgia Catholic Church, Pigeon with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Elkton.
A parish scripture service will be conduct 6:30 PM Tuesday evening at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton where friends and family may call from 2 to 9 PM Tuesday and at the church after 10 AM Wednesday.
Memorials may be given to St. Francis Altar Sociery or the donors choice.
