Cass Duke

Cass John Duke passed away at his home on December 21, 2005. Cass was born on March 3, 1918, in Detroit, Michigan. His parents were Michael John Duke and Marie Dymak Duke of Detroit. Cass married Lillian Orban on April 22, 1939 at St. Agathas Church in Gagetown, Michigan. He resided in the Deford, Michigan area for a period of time before moving to Detroit. Cass was a mechanical engineer for thirty-five years. Following retirement, he moved to Boyton Beach, Florida in 1980. Cass is survived by his wife, Lillian, of Boyton Beach, Florida; three sons, James M. Duke of Washington, D.C., Dr. Lawrence J. and Darby Duke of Tiburon, California, Bill Duke and wife, Deborah, of Delaware, Ohio; one daughter, Ann Marie McNair and husband, Rodney, of Norcross, Georgia; one grandson, Jeffrey McNair of Atlanta, Georgia; four granddaughters, Julie McNair Haley and husband, Scott, of Eatonton, Georgia, Jennifer McNair of Arden, North Carolina, Catherine Duke of New York, New York, Suzanne Duke of Cambridge, Massachusetts; and two great-grandchildren. His parents and one sister preceded him in death. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Agathas Church in Gagetown, Michigan on Tuesday, June 10, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Cass was a caring and loving husband and father; the most important things in his life were his faith and his love of his family.
