Catherine "Ellie" E. Christian

Catherine E. Christian "Ellie", age 87, of Unionville, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2017, at McLaren Bay Region in Bay City.

Catherine was born July 7, 1929, in Bay City, the daughter of the late Otto and Helen (Gettel) Gaeth. She married Elmer Christian on October 1, 1970, at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Scheck officiating. Elmer passed away June 10, 2015. She enjoyed bowling and the Detroit Tigers. She worked many years for J.H. Kemp and Co. in Unionville and sold AVON. She was a loyal member to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing.

Catherine is survived by her brother, Roland Gaeth; sister, Ruth Rummel; and many nieces and nephews.

Catherine is preceded in death by her husband, Elmer; brother, Edgar (Alberta) Gaeth, infant brother, Harold Gaeth; sister-in-law, Ruth Gaeth; and brother-in-law, Don Rummel.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 26, 2017, at Juengel-Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing, from 2-8pm.

The funeral service will be Monday, February 27, 2017, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing with Rev. David Reed officiating. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am.

Burial will take place privately at Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in Unionville.

Memorial donations may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church (General Fund).
