Chad Michael Davis

May 15, 1986 — June 24, 2006

Chad Michael Davis, age 20, of Caseville, died Saturday, June 24, 2006 on Drummond Island after being struck by an automobile as a pedestrian.

Chad was born May 15, 1986 in Bad Axe to Richard and Jan (Menominee) Davis. Chad grew up in Caseville and graduated from Caseville High School in 2005. Throughout high school he worked at the Caseville IGA. He recently finished his first year of college at Northwood University in Midland. He was living in Detour Village in the Upper Peninsula for the summer while working on Drummond Island.

Chad was an all around athlete, excelling in basketball and soccer, and proud of his accomplishments as a Caseville Eagle. He also enjoyed playing percussion in the Caseville Band. He was Homecoming king in the fall of 2004 and held school records for number of 3-pt shots made. This past winter he was excited to have attended Super Bowl XL in Detroit as a representative of Northwood University. Chad was well liked and respected by his many friends, and will be dearly missed by his family.

He is survived by his mother and step father Jan and Jack Behrens of Detour Village; father Rick Davis; brothers Patrick of Bad Axe, James who is currently serving in the U.S. Navy in the Persian Gulf, Richard, Scott and Tyler all of Detour Village; nephew Isaac Tobias; Grandmother Peggy (Ballard) Rinnert of Pigeon; aunt and uncle Dee and Ron Deming of Pigeon and uncle and aunt Robert and Kim Menominee of Unionville; cousins Jessica, Matthew, Amber and April; and many great aunt and uncles.

For the past four years Chad had lived with the Kretzschmer family, Steve, Kim, Andy and Brandon, and they too will miss him. He will also be missed by his special friends Sally and Amanda Sturgill.

Chad was preceded in death by his cousin May Ann Deming.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday at the Caseville School Auditorium with Pastor Mike Goforth of Calvary Baptist Church in Caseville officiating. Burial will be in Bay Port Cemetery.

Visitation will be 2:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville and from 10:00 AM Wednesday until the time of the service at the school.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help cover expenses.
