Chad Robert Diebel

Chad R. Diebel, 46, of Pigeon passed away on August 8, 2025. Chad was born on April 1, 1979, in Cass City to parents Richard and Lois (Dubs) Diebel. Chad was united in marriage with the former Kristine Champagne on September 15, 2007, at St. Felix Catholic Church in Pinnebog. Chad was employed at the Co-Op Elevator in Pigeon and a member of the Winsor Fire Department as an Engineer.

Chad is survived by his wife Kristine (Kris); daughters Kacey and Kaylee; mothers Lois Diebel and Margaret Champagne; stepmom Gwen; and siblings Shawn (Stacey), Jason, Michelle (Anthony), and Bill; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, many friends, and the Winsor Township Fire Fighters.

Chad was preceded in death by his dad Richard (Dick) Diebel; father-in-law Richard (Dick) Champagne; grandparents Bob and Eleanor Dubs and Bill and Marilyn Diebel; cousin Billy Roemer, Jr.; and aunt Maryanne Janke.

Chad enjoyed camping with his family, riding motorcycles, and snowmobiling.

A funeral service for Chad will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Champagne Funeral Chapel, 7356 W. Michigan Ave., Pigeon, MI, Rev. Karen Bouverette presiding. Visitation will be from 3:00pm-8:00pm on Tuesday, August 12 at the funeral home, and on Wednesday from 10:00am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Kristine Diebel for the daughters he leaves behind. Final arrangements have been entrusted to Champagne Funeral Chapel of Pigeon.
