Charlene Theresa Baranski of Caro, age 83, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 9, 2022. Charlene was born July 11, 1938 in Columbiaville, the daughter of the late Charles R. and Alice M. (Mulroy) Bowles and attended Caro High School. She had been employed as a telephone operator at Moore Telephone Company, Caro Plastics, and finished her working career as a clerk for twenty-five years at the Tuscola County Sheriffs Department. Charlene loved gardening and baking, along with painting pictures, knitting, crocheting and making quilts. Her feline companion of more than ten years, "Punkin", kept her company. She would never turn down a chance to go shopping and dining out with family. Charlene is survived by four children, Ann (Young) Diana, Laurie (Young) Rodriguez of Fairgrove, Michael and Cynthia (Middaugh) Fields of Cass City, Bethany (Fields) Lockwood and Greg of Caro; ten grandchildren, Alicia Schneider, Amy Clark, Sarah Fritz, Elisa Lonergan, Austin Rodriguez, Rebekah Rodriguez, Jonathan Fields, Joshua Fields, and Cayla Lockwood; fourteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Charlene was preceded in death by husband, Richard J. Fields; husband, Leonard I. Baranski; one son, Richard C. Fields; one granddaughter, Angela (DeWald) Kolhagen; two brothers, Robert and Richard Bowles; two sisters, Connie Hanes and Carol Metz; and two nephews, Scott Bowles and Jeffrey Mitchell. Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.
