Charles Owen Dye, age 90, of Bay Port, formerly of Flint, passed away at Heartland Briarwood Nursing Home in Flint.
Charles was born November 17, 1926, in Kennett, Missouri, to Herbert and Pauline (Seeley) Dye. After graduating from high school, he joined the United States Army and served during WWII. He then married Betty Roberts in February 1946. She preceded him in death on December 17, 2000. He was a member of Local 599-Buick Motor Division for 45 years. He enjoyed wood carving, making decorative duck decoys, bird watching, duck hunting and fishing. He was a member of St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church and Ducks Unlimited.
Charles is survived by his daughter, Cathey (Howard) Galvas of Flint; grandson, Jason (Amelia) Galvas of Knoxville, TN; and 2 great granddaughters: Wilhelmina and Anastasia.
A funeral mass will be held Saturday, October 28, 2017, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help – St. Francis Borgia site, 25 Moeller St., Pigeon, MI. Visitation will begin at 9am with the mass at 10am. Fr. Robert J. Pare will be officiating.
Burial will take place at the church cemetery in Pigeon.
Memorial donations may be given to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
