Charles W. Edler

Charles "Chuck" W. Edler, Jr., age 75, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 7, 2011. Chuck was born July 5, 1935 in Owendale, MI to the late Charles & Frieda (Engelhard) Edler. He joined the U.S. Army on March 1, 1954 and was honorably discharged on February 13, 1957. In the Army he worked as a Radio Interceptor Operator for the Army Security Agency in Germany. He married Geraldine "Gerry" Juengel on September 26, 1959 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing, MI. Retired from Pontiac Motors as a welder. Chuck was a Eucaristic Minister and member of Cross Lutheran Church in Pigeon, MI and the American Legion # 293 in Sebewaing, MI. He had many hobbies including gardening, ham radio, fishing, visiting casinos, traveling, garage & estate sales, and his annual military reunions.

He is survived by his beloved wife Geraldine "Gerry" (Juengel) Edler, his loving children; Debra (Rod) Woodworth of Otisville, MI, Ronald (Nicole) Edler of New Orleans, Louisiana, and Darrin (Kim) Edler of Cheboygan, MI. Proud grandfather of 6 grandchildren; Tim Woodworth, Jordan, Brennan & Ashton Edler, Megan & Vinnie Edler. Also survived by one brother-in-law, Richard (Faye) Juengel of Sebewaing and many loving nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his sister Barbara Jamieson.

Visitation Thursday, February 10, 2011 at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home, Inc, Sebewaing from 2-9pm.

Funeral service will be Friday, February 11, 2011 at Cross Lutheran Church in Pigeon, MI. Visiting will take place at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am.

Burial will be at Cross Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Memorial may be given to Cross Lutheran Church or donor's choice.
