Charles "Shaky" Hover

Charles “Shaky” Hover, age 76, passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at Mountain View Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada, following a brief illness. Chuck was born October 30, 1936 in Unionville, the son of the late Maurice C. & Alvina L. (Ditzen) Hover. Following his graduation from Caro High School in 1954, he began a twenty-five year military career that ended with his retirement in 1979 as a Sergeant First Class in Special Forces with the United States Army. Following his retirement, Chuck moved to Las Vegas in 1980 where he worked as a security guard for several casinos. He was also a parachuting and scuba diving instructor while in Las Vegas. Chuck was a member of the American Legion and the Non-Commissioned Officers Association. In his spare time, he enjoyed prospecting for gold, hunting, and even began training to be a locksmith. Chuck is survived by four children and their spouses, Chuck & Mary Hover of Fairgrove, Lori & Andy Nersesian of Livonia, Keisha & Mitch Bachman of Cape Coral, Florida, Jonathan Spilman of Reno, Nevada; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard, Maurice and Don. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 21, 2012 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Rev. Dennis Kucharczyk officiating. Burial will follow at the Demorest Cemetery in Akron with military honors afforded by the Caro American Legion Post #7 and the United States Army. The family will receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Caro American Legion Post #7.
