Charles E. Hunter

Charles E. Hunter of Caro, formerly of Pennsylvania, age 79, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at Ascension St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw. Charles was born December 29, 1939 in Tyrone, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Maxine Hunter. Charles proudly served his country in the U.S. Army stationed at Fort Huachuca, Arizona, obtaining the rank of E3 with an Expert Badge (Rifle) and Artillery School. He was united in marriage with the former Emma Lee McMullen on November 26, 1964 in Warriors Mark, Pennsylvania, and she preceded him in death on November 27, 1993. Charles came to the Caro area in 1972. He was employed with Saginaw Steering Gear, retiring after thirty-two years. Charles loved to drive his Harley Davidson and his black Ford Mustang, and also enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Charles is survived by four children and their spouses, Larry & Jennifer Hunter, Corinda & Jimmy Lesoski, Casey Hunter, Tessa Hunter; twelve grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren with two on the way; and one sister, Beverly Woodring of State College, Pennsylvania. In addition to his mother and wife, Charles was preceded in death by one son; one sister; one sister-in-law; one brother-in-law; and one nephew. In keeping with Charles' wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at the Tyrone Alliance Church, 2103 Adams Avenue, Tyrone, Pennsylvania 16686. Burial with military honors will follow at Blair Memorial Park in Altoona, Pennsylvania.
