Charles Melcheck, 91, of Caseville, died Friday, March 23, 2012 at Scheurer Hospital.
Charles was born August 31, 1920 in Wilpen, Pennsylvania to the late Michael and Kate Melcheck. He moved to Caseville in 1922. He attended Hayes School from 1927 to 1934. He served in the US Army during World War II in both the European and Pacific Theaters.
He worked as a builder for commercial construction in the Bay City/Saginaw area. He enjoyed farming especially growing cucumbers for pickles. He played harmonica and sang at area nursing homes and at Walt’s.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Pete, Mike, and Nick. He was the last of his generation living and leaves no survivors.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Tuesday, March 27th at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville with Rev. Bruce Nowacek of Hayes UMC officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Caseville Twp Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am Tuesday until the time of the service.
