Charles “Chuck” Weeks, 91, of Bay Port and Naples, passed away Monday July 14, 2025, in Naples, Florida.
Chuck was born April 23, 1934, in Lansing, Michigan, to the late John E. and Thelma O. (Pobanz) Weeks. Charles attended Bay Port High School and graduated in 1953 where he was a basketball star and catcher on the baseball team. After graduation, he served in the 18th Airborne Corps Artillery at Fort Bragg North Carolina from March 1954 to December 1955. After his military service he attended Michigan State University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Banking in 1961. He met his beloved wife Judith (Judy) E. Weeks (Adams) in Caseville during the summer of 1956. He worked as a banker with NBD (Detroit), Southern Ohio Bank (Cincinnati), Union Commerce Bank of Cleveland and finished his career as President and CEO of Citizens Bank Flint until his retirement in 1996. He also served as President of the Urban Coalition Genesee, Genesee Economic Area Redevelopment Corporation, and the Tall Pines Council of Boy Scouts of America. In addition, he served as Chairman of McLaren Healthcare Corporation. He enjoyed travel, fine food, fishing on Saginaw Bay, Michigan State Sports and sharing years of wisdom and stories to any and all. An avid reader and history buff, he never went a day without having a book in his hand. He loved his friends, family, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and was an extremely generous and kind man.
Chuck married Judith “Judy” Adams June 27, 1959, at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church in Detroit and shared over 63 years of marriage until her passing June 26, 2022. The family lived in Auburn Hills, Rochester and Grand Blanc, Michigan, Cincinnati and Cleveland, Ohio. During retirement years, Chuck and his wife Judy maintained homes in Grand Blanc, Caseville, Michigan and Naples, Florida.
Chuck is survived by his son Christopher (Bobbi L. Gianfrancesco) of Cape Coral, Florida; grandson Stefan; great-grandson Zaiden; granddaughter Alyssa; sister Carol Goodall (Bill Goodall); and sister-in-law Linda Bishop; as well as many nieces, nephews, other family members, and countless friends. Chuck was preceded in death by wife Judy Weeks; brother John (Jack); sister Virginia; brother William (Bill); sister Darlene; sister Yvonne (Bonnie); and brother Tom.
The funeral service will be 11:00am Monday, July 21, 2025, at the Champagne Funeral Chapel in Pigeon. Interment will be in New Bay Port Cemetery directly after the service. Visitation will be 2-6pm on Sunday, July 20 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers a gift may be made to the Huron County Community Foundation, Bad Axe or a charity of the donor's choice.
