Charles Joseph Roose

Charles Joseph Roose of Caro, age 83, passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Community in Caro. Chuck was born February 10, 1938 in Marion, the son of the late J. Emera and Ethel (French) Roose. He served his country in the Michigan National Guard. Chuck was united in marriage with the former Wilma Crittenden on February 16, 1963 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Wilmot and the couple has cherished more than fifty-eight years together. He enjoyed camping at "The Park," fishing with his family, and has visited most of Michigan's lighthouses. Chuck worked at Buick in Flint in the same plant for over thirty-five years, retiring on June 1, 1998. Chuck is survived by his loving wife, Wilma Roose of Caro; three children and their spouses, Beth & Bryan Bruce of Lapeer, Allen & Cheryl Roose of Casper, Wyoming, Dale & Carolynda Roose of Mayville; thirteen grandchildren; six great-grandsons; three great-granddaughters; sisters-in-law, Joann and Alberta Roose; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by two daughters, Pamela Roose and Jeanne Matthews; one grandson, Daniel Joseph Roose; five brothers, John, Jim, Les, Bob and Paul; one sister, Lucy Holmes; brothers-in-law, John Holmes, Carl Traster, Paul Festian; sisters-in-law, Alice, Norma, Ruth, Gloria, Delores and Margaret; nephews, Karl Traster, John, Rich and Randy Holmes; and nieces, Carol Montei, LuAnn and Cindi Roose. Funeral services will be held at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Monday, July 26, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Michele Hile officiating. Burial will follow at Indianfields Township Cemetery in Caro.
