Charles David Schattilly

Charles (Charlie) David Schattilly of Deford, Michigan, age 76, passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2023. Charles was born December 30, 1946 in Saginaw, Michigan, the son of the late Andrew and Ella Schattilly. Following graduation from Arthur High School in 1965, Charlie went on to join the Army. After serving time in the military, he started his career with Saginaw Steering Gear (General Motors), retiring after thirty years of employment. Charlie was strong willed, generous, loyal, and brave. He also had an enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor. He will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his friends and family. Charlie will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his daughter, Heather Schattilly Jordan (Matthew II); grandchildren, Brooke, Gracie and Matthew Jordan; stepson, Jason Hales (Billie); grandchildren Gabriela, Anna, Eli, Brandon, and McKenzie; great-grandchildren, Jaxcyn and Carson Hales; brother, Robert Alan Schattilly (Linda); and nephews Neil, Bryan (Tisha), Lauren Schmitt (Joseph III) and Kirk; great-nieces and great-nephews, Kaitlyn, Ryan, Allyson, Tara and Sophia. In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janet Schattilly.

Cremation has taken place and the family is currently making plans for a memorial gathering. Information will be posted to this website as it becomes available.
