Charles Seasons, of rural Caro, died at his residence on Sunday, January 29, 2006. He was 88 years of age. Charles was born on November 23, 1918, in Detroit. He was working in a Conservation Corp Camp (Camp Eldorado) in the Grayling area at the age of 16 years. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1941; serving during WWII where he found his bride, the former Valerie Williams, whom he married on May 24, 1945 at Stratford on Avon in England. They enjoyed 20 years in the Saint Clair Shores area where he was employed as a boiler operator at Hoskins Manufacturing. Upon his retirement, they moved to the Kalkaska-Traverse City area, and then to Caro to be closer to their family. He is survived by his wife, Valerie; and his children. The funeral will be held at the Collon Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 1, 2006, at 8:00 p.m. with Christopher K. Taylor, facilitating. Cremation will follow the service. Visitation will be at the Collon Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until time of service at 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donors choice.
