Charles Leo Swicegood

At the age of 70, Charles Leo Swicegood of Caro, Michigan, passed away in his sleep in the early morning hours of Friday, August 8, 2014. Charles was born on July 21, 1944 in Crossville, Tennessee to the late Evelyn Justeen Swicegood and Leo Wright Medlin. He proudly served this country as an Aircraft Engine Mechanic in the United States Navy and was stationed at the U.S. Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Florida. He was an out- of- doors person who loved camping, hunting and fishing. Charles is survived by his only son, Charles Allen and Andrea Swicegood; grandson, Hyder Charles Swicegood; companion, Susan Taylor; former wife, Shirley Y. Gibson; and many other loved ones, friends and acquaintances. A celebration of his life will occur on Saturday, July 16, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Rev. Michele Hile officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 3:00 p.m. A veterans burial will occur in the near future.
