Charles A. Way

Charles A. Way of Altoona, Pennsylvania, age 84, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at McLaren-Lapeer Region. Charlie was born September 28, 1933 in Altoona, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Charles B. and Jessie (Bickerton) Way. He was a graduate of Altoona High School in Pennsylvania, enlisting in the U.S. Army and serving during the Korean War. Charlie was united in marriage with the former Hildegard K. Biehl on December 13, 1958, and she preceded him in death in 2009. He was employed as a pipefitter out of Detroit Local #636 for over fifty years, retiring in 2002. Charlie adored his wife, enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, and raised over five thousand chickens for eggs. He is survived by two children and their spouses, Charles Arthur & Monique Way of Ville Platte, Louisiana; Patricia & Robert Knapp of Caro; four grandchildren, Charles R. Way of Ville Platte, Louisiana, A
