Charlotte Kay Rieck of Caro, age 71, passed away on Monday, March 6, 2017 at United Hospice Residence in Marlette, following a courageous battle with ALS. Charlotte was born December 22, 1945 in Cass City, the daughter of the late Howard & Clara (Froede) Berry. She graduated from Kingston High School with the Class of 1964 and was united in marriage the following year with her high school sweetheart, Dennis Rieck, on September 18, 1965. Charlotte's working years were spent helping her husband run the family business, Rieck's Auto Parts in Kingston, but her true calling was raising and caring for her family. She was a member of the Ellington Nazarene Church in Caro and spent countless hours tending to her flower garden and cooking for her family. Charlotte's world revolved around her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she enjoyed spending time at the family cottage in Caseville with them. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of fifty-one years, Dennis Rieck of Caro; three daughters and their spouses, Michelle & Bryan Campbell of Kingston, Kimberly & Bill Fox of Caro, Sherri & Chad Bennett of Caro; seven grandchildren, Kayla & Frank Smith of Gagetown, Trischa Campbell of Kingston, Trent Fox (Sarah Petiprin) of Mayville, Taylor Fox (John Szarapski) of Caro, Chad Bennett (Nicole Quick), Tyler Bennett (Ciara Ashbreck), and Austin Bennett, all of Caro; two special great-grandchildren, Kayden and Addisyn Smith; three sisters, Donna (Larry) Smith of Caro, Carolyn Berry of Caro, and JoAnn (Edward) Kreh of Breckenridge; sisters-in-law, Deb (Larry) Barrons of Deford, Sandy Rieck of Caro; and many nieces, nephews and special friends. In addition to her parents, Charlotte was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Betsy; sister, Norma Jaster; brother-in-law, Roger Rieck; mother- and father-in-law, Clinton and Maxine Rieck. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 10, 2017 at the Ellington Church of the Nazarene with Pastors Richard Barriger, Jon Terry and Erik Kreh officiating. Private family burial will follow at a later time at the Kingston Cemetery with her grandsons acting as pallbearers. The family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Ellington Church of the Nazarene or Marlette Hospice Residence.
