Chester "Chet" Nowak

Chester "Chet" Nowak of Caro, age 87, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Community in Caro, following a courageous battle with dementia. He was born February 26, 1928 in Bay City, the son of the late Frank and Blanche (Pieczak) Nowak, and served in the U.S. Navy. Chet was united in marriage with the former Joanne Krause, and she survives him. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Caro, and had been employed as a real estate broker in Caro and a journeyman meat cutter. Survivors include his loving wife of sixty-two years, Joanne; two children and their families, Fred & Cheryl Nowak of Caro, and their son, Patrick, of Bay City, Debra & Paul Fuller of Gagetown, and their children, Stefanie & Travis Eyer of Fairgrove and Jacob Fuller of Gagetown; a step-granddaughter, Andrea Oliva of New Bern, North Carolina; four great-grandchildren, Nolan and Pierce Eyer of Fairgrove and Abigayle and John Tyler Oliva of New Bern, North Carolina; one sister and her husband, Gerry & Jim Coonan of Bay City. In addition to his parents, Chet was preceded in death by one sister, Leona Englehart. In keeping with Chet's wishes, cremation has taken place. No services have been planned.
