Christine Dixon Langenburg of Watrousville, age 57, passed away on February 23, 2024 at her home, with her loving family by her side. Chris was born May 14, 1966 in Cass City, the daughter of the late Richard “Dick” Dixon and Johanna (Schmuckle) Toner. She was a devoted wife to her loving husband, Larry, whom she was united in marriage with on April 7, 1990. They shared over forty years together and a bond that inspired those around them. As a mother, Chris poured boundless love and wisdom into her children, guiding them with grace and strength. Everything she did was for her children. The countless summer camping trips and time spent by the water will always be cherished.
At the age of eighteen, Chris started working as a hairdresser and nail technician. She held a chair at Betty’s Talk of the Town, Time Out, and Rage, just to name a few. Chris loved talking with her clients and creating works of art until her retirement from cosmetology in 2020. In addition to her dedication to beauty, Chris found immense joy in her years spent working at Bronner's, a place that held a special corner in her heart. The festive atmosphere, the joy of helping customers find the perfect decorations, and the camaraderie of her colleagues made her time at Bronner's truly special. She worked from 2008 until her retirement in 2022 as an assistant supervisor.
Chris’ home was not just a place; it was a sanctuary for those in need. With an open heart and open doors, she welcomed friends, family, and even strangers, offering a safe haven and a listening ear. Her generosity knew no bounds, and she had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel loved and accepted. Once you got to know Chris, you had a friend for life. She loved tending to her flower garden and many beloved pets. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Chris leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband, Larry; children, Cecelia (fiancé, Jarred Romain) Langenburg and Connor Langenburg; stepson, Jeremy (Anne) Langenburg; all the children she took under her wings throughout her life; grandchildren, Jessica, Chase, Aly, and Spencer; sisters, Mary Rife, Sue Olson, and Cathy (Richard) Green; mother-in-law, Donna Langenburg; sister-in-law, Annette Langenburg; brother-in-law, Val (Deanna) Langenburg; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents, Chris was preceded in death by her stepfather, Dean Toner; brother, Michael “Micky” Dixon; and father-in-law, Larry Langenburg.
In keeping with Chris’ wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service for immediate family and close friends will be held on Friday, March 1, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro.
