Christopher "Spike" Eisengruber , 54, of Sebewaing, a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend, passed away on Monday March 20, 2023, with family at his side after a short battle with cancer at Bay Shores SNF in Bay City. Chris was the youngest of 6 boys born on November 26, 1968 to the late James and Kathryn Eisengruber.
He was a graduate of USA High School class of 1987 and enlisted in the Army immediately after. Upon returning home, he attended Delta College and received an Associates Degree along with completing the Police Academy training course.
Chris was a Sebewaing Police officer for 26 years and also served as a Medical First Responder for the Sebewaing Ambulance. He impacted the lives of many through various contributions to the community. He was affectionately known to many as "Officer Spike". Spike will be missed by all, but especially some of his close friends, including Bubba & Rose, Jessica, Stephanie, Judy, Steve, Sam, Butch, his ghost hunting crew, and many others too numerous to mention.
Some of his favorite hobbies included deer hunting with his brothers, trips to the casino, walking his dog "Sebastian", attending gun shows and ghost hunting.
Chris is survived by his brothers and their spouses: Joe (Moe), Mike (Sue), Tom (AnnMarie) all of Sebewaing, Tim (Jennie) of Erwin, PA, and Greg (Christina) of Saginaw Township and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his great niece, Harli Rose.
Visitation will be Thursday March 23, 2023, from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday March 24, 2023, at Our Lady Consolata Catholic Church in Sebewaing, with visitation at 10:00 a.m. and funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. Police and military honors will follow the service at the church.
Burial will take place privately at Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in Sebewaing.
Memorials can be made to the Sebewaing Police Department or the Sebewaing Ambulance.
