Christopher S. Gayari

Christopher S. Gayari, age 94 of Pigeon, passed away Friday, April 22, 2011 at Courtney Manor in Bad Axe.
Born on March 11, 1917, he was the son of the late Christ and Louisa (Funk) Gayari, He married Helen Eva Bletl at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church, Pigeon, on September 2, 1936. She preceded him in death on September 27, 1996.
Christopher farmed his entire life in Winsor Township, and topped sugar beets into his 80's. He loved to fish and hunt, and go to the casino. He loved his family, and enjoyed traveling for many, many years to the family cabin in Rudyard in the Upper Peninsula. He was a member of the Caseville Retirement Club, and was a member of St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church all his life.
He is survived by his children: Ronald (Elaine) Gayari of Owendale, Judith (Jerry) Woods of Taylor, Philip (Eileen) Gayari of Caseville, and Roxanne Errer of Caseville. Also surviving are grandchildren: Laura (Kevin M.) Burk, Karen (Mark) Hicks, Jenifer (Kevin) Green, Stephen (Michelle S.) Gayari, Michelle M. Gayari, Bradley (Tammy) Woods, Ryan (Kelly) Errer, Rebecca (David) Diehl, and Emily Errer; great-grandchildren: Tiffany (Eddie) Lorkowski, Kevin P. Burk, Nathan Hicks, Andrew Hicks, Chelsea Green, Brandon Green, Ariel Green, Shawn Gayari, Kyle Gayari, Carissa Gayari, Brittney LaFace, Jordan Woods, Tayler Woods, and Julius Diehl; great great-grandchildren, Luke Lorkowski and Jonathan Lorkowski; a brother, Jacob (Theresa) Gayari of Clio; a sister, Susan Gunsell of Sebewaing; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandsons, Jeffery Woods and Christopher Errer; and sisters and brothers, Dorothy Uhl, Mary Schumacher, Elizabeth Naffien, Peter Gayari, and Martin Gayari.
The Funeral Mass will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church, Pigeon, with Rev. Fr. John Weis officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The Scripture Wake Service will be 7:00 p.m. Monday, April 25 at the Meyersieck-Bussema Funeral Home, Pigeon.
