Christopher James Niklowicz

Christopher James Niklowicz of Caro, age 35, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2022 as the result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Chris was born October 10, 1986 in Grosse Pointe, the son of Phillip and Monica (Lovelock) Niklowicz. He graduated from Caro High School with the class of 2004 and went on to work at Iafrate Construction Company as a heavy machine operator. Throughout life, Chris was an avid deer hunter, fisherman, and was very active in sports. He was the wrestling coach for the Caro Growlers and very involved with the wrestling community. Chris had a zest for life and always had a smile on his face, often doing whatever it took to make someone laugh. He loved going for rides on his motorcycle and spending time with friends and family. Above all, Chris loved being a father to his son, Ashton. Ashton was Chris' whole heart, and memories made with him will live forever. Chris' infectious smile, quick wit, and booming laugh will be missed dearly. Chris is survived by his son, Ashton Niklowicz; parents, Phillip & Monica Niklowicz; siblings, Phillip Niklowicz and Kelly Niklowicz; significant other, Heather Simpson and her son, Collin; godfather, Mike & Cindy Lovelock; aunts and uncles, Walter & Linda Niklowicz and Lisa & Andy Zundel and family; cousins, and many close friends. Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edward & Corinne Lovelock and Walter & Josephine Niklowicz; and godmother, Sue Niklowicz. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at St. Christopher Parish, Sacred Heart Church in Caro. Rev. Christopher Coman will officiate with cremation to follow. Chris' family will be present to receive visitors at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Family Discretionary Fund for the benefit of Chris' son, Ashton, c/o Phillip Niklowicz, 205 West Sherman Street, Caro, MI 48723.
