Christopher Michael Valentine

Chris M. Valentine, age 69, of Caseville, died Saturday, July 5, 2008 at Covenant Hospital in Saginaw after a short illness.

Chris was born May 15, 1939 in Lansing to Frances (nee Rohl) and the late Michael Valentine. He graduated from Waterford High School in 1957 and Michigan State University with a degree in engineering. Chris married Judith Harrell on April 28, 1962 in Saginaw.

He retired from General Motors after 30 years as a purchasing manager and moved permanently to Caseville in 2000. He was a member of Pointe Aux Barques Lighthouse Society, the Huron County Community Mental Health Board, and the founder of Sunrise Living ( a non-profit housing development for disabled persons). He was a tireless advocate on behalf of persons with mental illness.

Surviving are his wife Judy; daughter Laura of Bay City and son David and his wife Danielle Edwards of Livonia; his mother Frances and sister Vickie (Ron) LeCates both of Deerfield Beach, Florida.

A funeral service will be at 12:00 Noon Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville.

Visitation will be from 10AM Wednesday until the time of the service.

Memorials may be made to the Pointe Aux Barques Lighthouse Society.
