Clara Agnes Kapala

Clara Agnes Kapala, 92, formerly of Caseville, died Monday, June 4, 2018 at her son’s home in Mulliken, Michigan while under hospice care.

Clara was born November 23, 1925 in Tawas to the late George and Lilly (Conway) Whitney.  She married Bernard Kapala on June 28, 1947 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tawas; he preceded her in death on November 24, 2009.

Clara worked for US Graphite in Saginaw for 12 years and 29 years for the Saginaw News.  She retired to Caseville February 26, 1994.  She enjoyed gardening, Euchre and spending time with family.  She was a member of St. Roch Catholic Church/OLPH.

She is survived by her children Sharon (David) Geiersbachs of Indiana, Timothy (Maryln) of Mt. Morris and Gary (Karen) of Mulliken; grandchildren Amy, Tanya, Michael, Angela, Jennifer, Steven and Matthew; and 9 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her son David and siblings:  Mary Wellman, John, Francis, Joseph, Raymond and Edmund Whitney.

A funeral mass will be 10:00am Thursday, June 7 ^th at St. Roch Catholic Church/OLPH with Fr. Robert Pare presiding.  Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Saginaw.
