Clarence Richard Haag, age 94, of Sebewaing, passed away Monday, June 21, 2021, at Covenant-Cooper Healthcare.
Clarence was born in Fair Haven Township on December 6, 1926, to Henry and Martha (Nitzke) Haag. Clarence attended Kilmanagh Lutheran School. He and his dad ran a saw mill for many years. But, his true passion was farming. He even did custom beet harvesting for other farms for many years. Clarence enjoyed listening to Lawrence Welk and watching the Detroit Tigers and football games with his wife, Donna. He and Donna got married August 26, 1950 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Kilmanagh. She preceded him in death on Oct. 13, 2016. Clarence also enjoyed hunting and fishing and had a love for his church and was involved in many church activities over the years.
Clarence is survived by his children: Tom (Bonnie) Haag, Randy (fiancé Anne VanSumeren) Haag, Karen Schulze, Terry (Becky) Haag, Rhonda Haag and Greg (Kim) Haag; grandchildren: Jason Haag, Darcy (Steven) Tenbusch, Kendra (Matthew) Briggs, Robert (Amy) Haag, Tyler (Leslie) Proper, Christina (Ilifonso) Montoya, Nathaniel (Kami) Schulze, Jonathan Schulze, Jeffery (Elysia) Schulze, Jeremy (Stacey) Haag, Nick (Sara) Haag, Benjamin Haag, Tara (Travis) Deming, Corey Haag and Aaron Haag; 32 great grandchildren; sister, Florence Kannenberg; brother, Norbert (Marilyn) Haag; and many nieces and nephews.
Clarence is preceded in death by his son, Kevin Haag; granddaughter, Bethanie Haag; great grandson, Jacob Montoya; and siblings: Edna, Alice, Elmer, Carl, Herman, Walter, Art, Martin and Oscar.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Juengel-Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 2-8pm.
The funeral service will be Sunday, June 27, 2021 at St. Johns Lutheran Church – Kilmanagh. Visitation will begin at the church at 12noon until the time of service at 1pm. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Memorial donations may be given to St. Johns Lutheran Church or the Lutheran Hour.
