Clarence Martin Menzel

Clarence Martin Menzel, age 80, of Sebewaing, passed away October 26, 2018, at Brian's House in Essexville.

Clarence was born in Sebewaing on December 17, 1937, to Otto and Olga (Volz) Menzel. He married Pauline (Shaffer), she preceded him in death. He then married Marge (Lopez) on October 15, 2016. He worked as a Carpentry Supervisor, and was a member of the Carpenters Union Local for 30 years. He was a member of New Salem Lutheran Church and was a member and past president of the Sebewaing Area Historical Society. He proudly served 9 years in the National Guard. Clarence had a passion for restoring collectable cars and enjoyed driving around town.

Clarence is survived by his wife, Marge; children: Stephanie (Chris) Newby and Matthew (Patty) Menzel; sister, Marylee Kain; sister-in-law, Esther Menzel; grandchildren: Jason (Autum) Powell, Ryan (Bailey) Newby, Damian (Amanda) Menzel and Timothy (Kori) Menzel; and 9 great grandchildren.

Clarence is preceded in death by a wife, Pauline; son, James Menzel; brother, Harvey Menzel; sister, Jane (James) Fleming; and brother-in-law, David Kain.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 4, 2018, from 2-8pm at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing.

The funeral will be Monday, November 5, 2018, at New Salem Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am.

Memorial donations may be given to New Salem Lutheran Church or the Sebewaing Area Historical Society.
