Clark Robert Bruce

June 13, 1943 — April 29, 2025

Clark Robert Bruce of Caseville, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, April 29, 2025, at Courtney Manor in Bad Axe at the age of 81. Clark was born in Lansing, Michigan, to the late Robert and Bette (Clark) Bruce, on June 13, 1943, and was a 1963 graduate of Utica High School. While in high school he held the pole vault record for over thirty years and once scored five touchdowns in the same game. Clark spent his working years as a builder, earning his building license in 1976 and owning Lake Building Company. He will be remembered for his contributions to the Caseville community, including building Shakers Ice Cream Parlor. Clark married his best friend, Elizabeth “Sue” Duprey on May 21st, 1999, celebrating nearly twenty-six years of marriage. She survives him. A lover of nature, Clark spent much of his free time hunting, fishing, and especially loved camping with Sue; staying at Sleeper State Park and on his brother Bob’s property. He also enjoyed golfing and grilling up countless meals for him and Sue. Clark is remembered as being a kind man that loved life and cared deeply about other people. He lived to spend time with his family and Sue.

Clark is survived by wife, Sue Bruce; children, Barbara (Ken) Webb, Lesley (Steve) Huckaby, and Jody (David) Luptino; step-children, Michelle (Chris) Love and Stephanie (Rob) Roberts; many grandchildren; siblings, Michael (Linda) Bruce, Tony Bruce, and Martha (James) Drysch; and siblings-in-law, William Peters and Karen Bruce; as well as many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Clark was preceded in death by siblings, Julia Peters and Robert Bruce; nephew, Matthew Peters; sister-in-law, Rama Bruce.

No services are planned at this time. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a memorial contribution to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
