Clark J. Eidt

February 17, 1936 — July 27, 2021

Pigeon

Clark J. Eidt 85, of Pigeon, formerly of Sebewaing, passed away to his Heavenly home on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at Scheurer Hospital of cancer.

Clark was born February 17, 1936 in Owendale to the late Orville and Bernice (Scheile) Eidt. He graduated from Owendale High School in 1954. He served in the US National Guard from 1954 to 1962. He married Barbara J. Scheiwe on September 5, 1959 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing.

Clark was a self employed auto technician/Amsoil Dealer and also owned Clark’s Custom Cuts smoked meat business, both out of his home in Sebewaing. Clark had many hobbies and interests including boating, snowmobiling, motor cycling, riding golf carts, traveling, camping, cooking, listening to Gospel, Country and Polka music. He enjoyed making Gospel and Blue Grass CD’s for his friends. He had developed his own recipe for making donut holes which he shared with anyone he met; he was given the name of “Donut King” by his friends. Clark would talk to a stranger the same as he would speak to a best friend, and at the end of the conversation, Clark would be their friend.

Clark is survived by his wife Barbara; sons David (Kay) of Grand Rapids, Daniel of Olmsted Falls, Ohio and John of Dexter; grandchildren Anthony, Cole, Molly, and Evan; Molly’s mother Kristen and Evan’s mother Kristi; and sister Elaine “Marge” Parker of Clawson. He was preceded in death by his daughter Cathy Kretzschmer and brother-in-law William Parker.

A memorial service will be at 3:00pm Monday, August 2nd at the Champagne Funeral Chapel with Rev. Glenn Sokolowski officiating. Interment will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Sebewaing. Visitation will be 2-4 Sunday and 1-3 Monday.

In place of flowers or memorials, if you wish to remember Clark do it with a kind word or deed given to someone who needs you. “Not all of us can do great things, but we can do small things with great love.” – Mother Teresa
