Clark Stanton Roll

Clark Stanton Roll of Porter, Texas, age 61, passed away suddenly at his home on Friday, June 17, 2016. Stan was born May 9, 1955 in Perry, Iowa, the son of the late Dr. Marlin H. and Janice (Wheeler) Roll. He graduated from Caro High School with the Class of 1973 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving with the Nuclear Submarine Division. Following his honorable discharge, Stan earned an engineering degree from Clearwater College in Texas. His working career began with the engineering firm, Worley Parsons as a project and quality manager, a position that led him to all parts of the world to oversee major construction projects. Stan recently retired from its successor company, the Parsons Corporation. He was united in marriage with MiAe Kang on February 21, 2001 in South Korea, and she survives him. Stan's spare time was spent riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, and entertaining friends, which often involved one of his infamous White Russians. He was especially proud of his most recent project, a 7500 square foot "garage" addition to his Texas home. Stan is survived by his wife, MiAe; his siblings, Elizabeth Roll of Georgia, and Paul Roll of Caro; one nephew, Toby Roll and his wife, Gwendolyn, of St. Clair; and one niece, Heidi Stentz of Georgia. In addition to his parents, Stan was preceded in death by his sister, Tiffany. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro. Burial will follow at Wahjamega Cemetery in Caro. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Community of Christ Church in Caro.
