Claude Boyd

Claude Evans Boyd, age 57, of Silverwood, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2011 at his home. He was born on September 22, 1953 in Pontiac to George Boyd and the late Verna (Johnston) Boyd. Claude grew up in Waterford and moved to Tuscola County in 1994. Until his retirement, he had been employed at the Orion Plant of General Motors. On March 30, 2011 he was united in marriage with Melody Williams at the family residence in Dayton Township. He was a member of the Greater Tuscola Bowling Association for many years and most recently second vice-president. Claude was a former member of the Eagles in Mayville. In addition to being an avid bowler, he enjoyed making people laugh, hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Melody; one son, Sean (Tina) Boyd of Stockton, California; three grandchildren, Heather, Courtney and Joshua; one great-granddaughter, Kylee; his step-children, Amber (Paul) Tinetti of White Lake and Walter Dixon V of Waterford; his father and step-mother, George and Nancy Boyd of Bancroft; his siblings, Mike (Sherry) Boyd of Waterford, Kathy Boyd of Waterford, Naoma Boyd of Owosso; an aunt, Margaret Becker of Waterford; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Rick Boyd. In keeping with Mr. Boyds wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a celebration of his life on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. in the Backroom at Brentwood Lanes, 178 Park Drive (near the Fairgrounds), Caro, Michigan 48723. There will be no visitation or service at the Collon Funeral Home.
