Cleo Kern

Cleo M. Kern, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, died on Thursday, August 7, 2008 at Vadavilla AFC Home in Unionville, age 80 years. She was born on October 9, 1927 in Caro, daughter of the late Martin and Violet Kreps. The former Cleo Kreps married Fred Kern on January 30, 1954 in Caro. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Caro. Cleo had worked as a court reporter for Saginaw County. She is survived by her husband, Fred Kern; her children and their spouses, Tim and Mary Kern of Bay City, Penny and Charles Kurzer of Metamora, and Tom and Eileen Kern of Reese; her grand-children, Mathew (Mandy) Kern, Jaime Kern, Jason (Ima) Kurzer, Joel and Shannon Kurzer and Kyle Kern; great-grandchildren, Gabrielle and Grace Kern. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Del Kreps, on April 4, 2005. The funeral service will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Caro on Monday, August 11, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor David Hollender officiating. Burial will follow at Indianfields Township Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Collon Funeral Home on Sunday between the hours of 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider St. Paul Lutheran Church.
