Clyde Turner of Tawas City, formerly of Caro, age 91, passed away on Monday, January 25, 2016 at Lakeview Manor in Tawas City, following a period of declining health. Clyde was born June 27, 1924 in Haysi, Virginia, the son of the late James and Victoria (Singleton) Turner. Clyde was employed as a welder with Cadillac Motors in Detroit for twenty years, retiring in 1977. He was a simple man that enjoyed Blue Grass music, working around the home, and helping his grandchildren, whom he adored. Clyde is survived by three daughters and their spouses, Bobbie & Frank Dombrosky of Dothan, Alabama, Patricia Garrison of Macomb, and Sue & Ron Nelson of North Charleston, South Carolina; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Juanita Mullins of Abingdon, Virginia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Turner on December 21, 2007; and eight siblings. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Rev. Cameron Steele officiating. Burial will take place at a later time at the Indianfields Township Cemetery in Caro. The family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Salvation Army.
