Cmdr. Susan Cordon Bowles, Usn Retired

Cmdr. Susan Cordon Bowles, USN Ret. of Caro, age 68, passed away on Friday, April 9, 2021 at Covenant Health Care - Harrison in Saginaw. Susan was born February 28, 1953 in Waterloo, Iowa, one of twin daughters born to the late John and Jane (Wilkinson) Bowles and was a graduate of Caro High School, Class of 1971. She started her career with the U.S. Navy as a registered nurse and retired as Commander after more than twenty years of service. Following her retirement from the Navy, Susan made Caro her home and continued her nursing management career at various places in the area, as well as in the private sector, as a wound care specialist. Susan's commitment to helping others with her generosity and compassion was clearly visible as she was always available for someone in need. She was known for her ice cream pies and prime rib. Susan had attended the Colwood Church for many years. Susan is survived by four siblings, John L. & Kate Bowles of Virginia and their children, John, Brian and Elliot, her twin sister, Janet Dysart Rhodes of Caro and her son, James, Brian Jeffery & Judi Bowles of Florida and their children, Anna Jane and John E., Barbara "Bo" Bowles of Oklahoma; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Pastor David Wilczynski officiating. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to Bay Shore Camp in Sebewaing.
