Codey Allen Sears

Codey Allen Sears of Kingston, age 34, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 15, 2025, while doing what he loved most—riding his motorcycle. He was born on June 18, 1990, in Lapeer, the son of Jace and Roxanne (Allen) Sears. Codey grew up with a love for the outdoors, spending his days riding horses, hunting, fishing, and helping fix anything that needed attention. He graduated from Kingston High School with the Class of 2009. His passion for motorcycles was unmatched, and he was always eager to lend a hand to his dad, friends, or anyone who needed something repaired. A dedicated Xbox gamer, Codey was also the go-to person for setting up systems and teaching others how to play. His favorite moments were spent surrounded by family and friends—whether it was shooting on the family property, enjoying a cookout, or hitting the open road. Known for his big heart, Codey was often lovingly called the “biggest teddy bear,” even if he pretended not to like the nickname. He had a way of looking out for everyone, whether you were family, a friend, or a stranger. Codey had been working at Continental Home in Caro as a the head service tech and held many other maintenance mechanic jobs over the years. He loved anything Chevy and adored his dog, Jekyll who he raised since he was 4 weeks old; dressing him in sweaters and bandanas. Codey’s world revolved around his family, friends, and work. His big love, deep voice, and infectious smile will be missed forever.

Codey leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved furbaby, Jekyll; his mom & dad, Roxanne & Jace Sears; brothers, Jace Sears, Jr. (Angela Thompson) and Casey Sears (Melissa Starke); his beloved nieces and nephew, Rainey Sears, Raven Sears, and Dawson Sears; many loving aunts and uncles; cousins who were more like siblings to Codey; and his endless friends. Codey was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dewain & Arleen (Powers) Allen and Wayne & Nancy (Hamilton) Eden.

A Celebration of Life is being planned for the summer. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to the wishes of the family, c/o Roxanne Sears, 205 West Sherman Street, Caro, MI 48723.
